Many writers get completely bogged down with story structure. There are so many different formulas and models in the writing world so its easy to see how that can happen.

While comparing story structures, I found this interesting article from Dramatica which compares all the different story structures.

It explains in great detail the comparison of seven different story models: Dramatica, Syd Field, Michael Hauge, Robert McKee, Linda Seger, John Truby and Christopher Vogler.

The article is by Write Brothers who created Dramatica writing software. Go take a look. But make sure you have a clear mind with coffee and biscuit at the ready as this is a long and detailed explanation of all the story structures from these esteemed writing tutors.
